MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team wrapped up the weekend series with a 7-5 victory over the Mars Hill Lions, completing the sweep against their South Atlantic Conference foe on Sunday.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• LR had the 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth before Mars Hill put up a four-spot, leading for the first time all weekend. It was a back-and-forth battle until the end before two home runs from
Will Jones and
Clayton Jeffries clinched the series sweep for the Bears.
• The road team had five of seven base hit recipients record at least two reach safely via the base hit. One through four in the order combined for seven hits and five runs batted in. Matt Freeman led the Bears with three RBIs while Jeffries and Jones had two each.

Jake Conroy got the start in the game and held the Lions hitless through four innings before being taken out of the game after giving up four runs in the fifth inning. It was
Hunter Martin who finished the game and earned his first win of the year as he worked 4.2 innings, giving up just one run on four hits and striking out six.
• Hunter Burnette took the loss in relief for Mars Hill, as he gave up three runs on three hits in 2.1 innings of work.
• The Lions were led at the plate by Kameron Reynolds, who drove in two runs and scored two of his own on a 2-for-3 day. Jordan Lathe, Matt Honeycutt and Austin Treadway each got one base hit in the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Martin's six K's marks a season-high for the senior.
• This marks the second SAC road sweep for the Bears this season. LR now owns an impressive road record of 13-8 as they ride a four game win streak.
• Ranel is on a six-game hit streak and went a combined 7-for-10 on the weekend while Jeffries has the longest hit streak with seven games.
