Women's Soccer Moves to 6-0 for First Time in Program History

Hickory, N.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team starts the 2019 season 6-0 for the first time in program history by beating Tusculum 4-0 Saturday afternoon. The Bears have now won six in a row for the first time since 2016.

STATS OF THE MATCH: 
  • Neve Duston opened up scoring in the 11th minute.
  • Aqsa Mushtaq then scored in 37th minute off an assist by Madi Kyle to put the Bears up 2-0.
  • Abigael McGarel then scored her fifth goal of the season off a penalty kick 3-0.
  • Madi Kyle then capped things off in the 83rd minute scoring the game's final goal off an assist by Scarlett Kelly 4-0.
  • Bears outshot the Pioneers 22 (14 SOG) - 8 (3 SOG).
  • The Bears also had more corner kicks 10-0.
  • The Pioneers were led by the defensive efforts of goalkeeper Cecile Ting Mortensen with 10 saves on the match.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Lenoir-Rhyne's Women's Soccer starts the season 6-0 for the first time in program history.
