Offensive Struggles Plague Women's Basketball at Coker

Hartsville, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team shot just 16-for-51 (31.4 percent) from the field in a tough 59-54 loss at Coker on Saturday afternoon. The Bears went just 5-of-23 in the the first half and connected on 3-of-16 from long range in the game.

Stats of the Game:
  • Karlie Bearden recorded another double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 boards. Bearden has now recorded four double-doubles over her past five contests and added a pair of blocked shots in this one.
  • Kennedy Weigt added a team-high 14 points on the day and hit two of the Bears three triples on the afternoon. 
  • Nakia Hooks added nine points and eight boards in 23 minutes off the bench and went 9-for-10 from the free throw line. 
  • Coker used a 23-point fourth quarter to earn the victory. The teams went into the fourth in a 36-36 tie but Coker did enough in the last 10 minutes to come away on top.
  • Erin Houser had a game-high 23 points and added 13 boards for the Cobras. 
Beyond the Box Score:  
  • LR drops to 6-1 all-time against Coker under Head Coach Cameron Sealey.
  • Weigt's one steal gave her 50 on her career.
  • With the loss today and a win by UVA-Wise, the Bears are in an eighth-place tie in the league standings with the top eight making the conference tournament.
