Greenwood, S.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis team fell to Lander 4-3 for an afternoon contest on Saturday. The Bears fought to the very end but came up just short in this non-conference matchup.
Evelin Menyhart led LR defeating Lius 6-0 and 6-4 in the number two spot.
Lucy Whelan also had a strong performance in singles defeating Acco 6-0 and 6-3 at number five.
Gemma Southwick battled in the number one slot but eventually fell 6-3, 5-7, 5-7 as Lander clinched the match with that victory.
On the doubles side, Whelan and
Sanne Janssen defeated Hahn/Lius 7-6.
The Bears will be back in action Tuesday, February 18 at home against Limestone.
