Hickory, N.C.-- Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis fell to high-powered No. 10 North Georgia 2-5 Saturday afternoon.
Gemma Southwick led LR in singles winning No. 1 singles 7-6, 1-6, 7-5.
In doubles,
Sanne Janssen and Southwick defeated Jorge/Adams 6-1 in convincing fashion.
Lucy Whelan and
Evelin Menyhart had strong performance defeating Zuddy/Markvartova 6-3.

Jesse Tarr talks about the fight his team showed today.
"We were underdogs today against the No.10 team in the country and in the end, we had a chance to win," Coach Tarr said. "Some great performances in doubles and in singles Gemma beat one of the best players in the country who finished last year ranked #19. We showed ourselves we belonged."
The Bears will be back in action Friday, February 28 as they travel to Anderson.
