Hickory, N.C.-- In game one, the Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team saw their ten-game winning streak snapped but the Bears rebounded to take game two and salvage a spilt on the day.Â

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- Limestone got on the board in the top of the 1st, After a leadoff single by Ashley Parnell, Limestone was playing small ball and LR's Lauren Rakes threw away the bunt attempt by Kat Tate giving Limestone first and third with no one out. Rakes limited the damage with a strikeout of Vic Brewington but Madison Chappell got the Saints on the board with a one-out sac fly. ​​​
- Limestone took a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Chole Thomas single, stole second and then came around to score on Kat Tate's second hit of the game.Â
- Limestone got two much-needed insurances runs in the 6th with a two-run double by Eryn Butler.
- After the first 16 Bears failed to reach base, Kory Hammett broke the perfect game up with a one-out single in the bottom of the 6th.Â
- Kylee Leonhardt and Talon LaClair went back-to-back to lead off the bottom of the 7th and cut the lead in half.Â
- Bears had the tying runs on base with one out but Limestone's Caroline Ruth got Leanna Sherrill to strike out and Sami Deiseler to foul out to end the game.Â
- Rakes (3-1) suffered her first lost in the circle, allowing four runs (three earned) but did struck out eleven Saints for a career high for the freshman.Â
- Ruth moved to 4-1 on the season for the Saints. Ruth only allowed the two home runs while striking out a season-high 8 hitters.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- Leonhardt and LaClair combo got the Bears on the board first in game two. Leonhardt doubled and scored on a LaClair single and error by the Saints.Â
- Bears extended the lead to 2-0 with a Savannah Moorefield RBI scoring Ashten Hinkle.Â
- Mackensi Swain hit her third homerun in the 5th, a two-run shot to extended the Bears lead to 4-0
- Morgan Beeler went the distance for the Bears to move to 5-0 on the season. Beeler allowed single runs in the 6th and 7th but held the Saints to four hits on the day.Â
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Lenoir-Rhyne came in to play today 4th in the nation in batting average with a team average of .406. Â
- This is the last non-conference meeting between the teams as Limestone will become a full member of the SAC next year.
- Leonhardt's 5th homerun ties her for lead in all of Division II.Â
- With four hits today, LaClair moves into first place in the SAC conference in hits with 22.Â
