Florence, S.C.-- Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis improve to 7-2 on the season with a road win over Francis Marion 6-1.
LR won two out of three doubles matches to lead the Patriots 1-0.
Lucy Whelan and
Evelin Menyhart kicked things off with a 6-0 win.
Gemma Southwick and
Sanne Janssen clinched the doubles point soon after. Southwick and Janssen are now 4-0 on the year and doubles and have won four matches straight as a duo.
The Bears continued to dominate in singles. Menyhart put LR 2-0 up after winning 6-2 6-4. Whelan fell 6-3 6-1 at no.3 singles. Janssen,
Diana Babinets and Southwick all won to shut down any glimpse of hope for the Patriots.
Ally Garofoli battled to a 6-4 2-6 6-4 victory to make it a 6-1 win for LR. Southwick and Babinets continue to stay hot improving to 8-1 and 7-1 respectively in singles matches.
The Bears return to conference play on Wednesday, March 8 to take on Coker at home.
