Jefferson City, Tenn-- Lenoir-Rhyne's Women Basketball Team fell to #23 Carson-Newman in Jefferson City,Tenn on Saturday afternoon, 91-73.
Kennedy Weigt came off the bench to score 23 points to lead the Bears.
Emily Harman finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists on the evening but the Bears could not overcome the #23 Eagles, who lead for all but 30 seconds on the evening.

-Today was Carson-Newman's first game in 35 days due to Covid protocols. The Eagles last game before today was December 12 in a 87-82 win against Limestone.
-The last ranked team the Bears beat were the Eagles. LR defeated then-ranked #20 Carson Newman 78-75 on December 5, 2018

Kennedy Weigt's five three-pointers today moved her to second all time in LR history with 178 3-Pointers made. Weigt is five away from first.
FIRST HALF:
-The story of the first half was the red-hot shooting of the Eagles. Carson-Newman shot 62.1% (18-29) for the floor and 62.5% from deep (5-8). On the other hand, the Bears were held to 41.4% (12-29) from the floor. The Bears took 13 three-point shots in the first half but only five were made.

Emily Harman and
Hanna McClung combined for 19 of the 31 Bears points in the first half and six of the Bears eight assists as well.
SECOND HALF:
-Carson-Newman expanded their lead to 23 points with 4:00 left in the third quarter before the Bears made a huge run. LR scored 15 out of the last 17 points in the third quarter including an 11-0 run to end the quarter.
-After the Bears cut the lead to ten early in the fourth quarter, LR struggled down the stretch only making 6 of 17 shots in the last period.
-Weigt made her season debut and scored 17 of her 23 points in the second half. Weigt finished 8-15 from the floor and 5-9 from deep. Today was Weigt's eighth career 20th point performance for the Bears.
-The Eagles got to the free-throw line 22 times on the afternoon, while the Bears only got to the line eight times tonight.
ABOUT THE BEARS:
-Harman flirted with a triple-double. Harman finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in 33 minutes. LR's last triple double was by
Kendall Toineeta on December 5, 2017. Toinetta finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on that day.
-Sophomore
Sydney Wilson made her LR debut tonight, Wilson scored four points and four rebounds in 13 minutes of action.
-Behind Weigt's 23 points, the Bears had 39 bench points today, which was their highest mark of the season. Other then Weigt, Blaikely Crooks had six points,
Mallory Sherrill added four points for the Bears.
-LR's 73 points were a season high for the Bears. After struggling to start the season, the Bears have now averaged 66.3 points in their last three games.
NOTABLE EAGLES:
-SAC leading scorer Braelyn Wykle led the Eagles with 27 points. Wykle now has scored at least 20 points in all four games for the Eagles.
-Fellow Sophomore Skylar Boshears had a career-high 26 points for the Eagles. Boshears went 8-10 from the charity stripe for the Eagles.
-The 91 points for the Eagles were a season high.
-Carson-Newman did not trail at all today and the game was tied for just 30 seconds.
