Women's Track Predicted to Finish Second In SAC Preaseason Coaches Poll

Hickory, N.C.- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Track and Field team was predicted to finish 2nd in the South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll announced Friday morning.

The Bears received 131 points and one first placed vote in the poll, just behind Queens with 143 points and 11 first place votes.

LR had a strong indoor season last year, finishing 2nd in the SAC Indoor Championships. The Bears were led by DMR team: Adie Bjerkness, Mya Jones, Taylor Meadows, and Kylie Dahlberg who finished second last year. Lacey Triplett also returns and finished second in pole vault with a jump of 3.10m.

The Bears lose only 5 athletes from last year's 2nd place team and bring in 17 newcomers in this year's class.
