EMORY, VA - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's track & field team took third, marking the eighth straight year the women's team has finished in the top three at the SAC Championships.
The Bears got titles from
Sharonda Priester and
Mackenzie Pringle. Priester won the 400m hurdles title with a time of 58.29. She ranks second in the country in that event with her time of 57.70 she ran two weeks ago. Pringle set a new outdoor season's best in the triple jump with a leap of 12.43 meters, ranking her seventh in the nation.
Pringle was also the runner-up in the 110m hurdles, running a big personal best time of 13.75 that ranks 13th in the country.
Jani Day placed third in the 400 with a time of 55.46. The 4x100 and 4x400 teams both placed third, with the 4x400 team setting a new season's best time of 3:47.41.
Olivia Overholt came within 0.03 of her personal best in in the 800 to take fourth with a 2:15.51.
Wingate won the team title with 216 points, followed by Catawba (142), Lenoir-Rhyne (91), Tusculum (89), and Carson-Newman (88).
