JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – Dwayne McGee ran for 162 yards and four touchdowns in the first half as
Lenoir-Rhyne cruised to a 59-0 victory on Saturday afternoon. Three of McGee's four touchdowns came in the first quarter as LR ran out to a 28-0 lead after one quarter and a 35-0 advantage at the break. The 59-point win was the largest margin of victory for the Bears in the all-time series with Carson-Newman.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• McGee started the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run on LR's first drive of the game. After forcing a quick punt on the Eagles' first drive,
Kelin Parsons took a 40-yard pass from
Grayson Willingham to the house.
• On that connection, Willingham became the program's all-time leader in career passing yards. Willingham passed Brian Bryson's mark of 6,583 passing yards which stood since 1987.
• Just over five minutes later, McGee broke a 20-yard run to put the Bears up 21-0 and, with 14 seconds left in the first quarter, McGee broke free for 49 yards as LR went up 28-0.
• The final score of the first half came with 3:30 left in the second quarter as McGee burst through for 19 yards to complete a huge first 30 minutes.
• The first Carson-Newman drive of the second half resulted in an 85-yard kickoff return to set the Eagles up at the eight-yard line. However, the Bears held on fourth down and kept the shutout intact.
• McGee evened the single-game record with his fifth rushing TD of the game on the ensuing drive, scoring from four yards out.
• LR would extend the lead to 49-0 when Willingham hit Lester for a 38-yard score. The connection gave Willingham a career-high 359 passing yards.
• Gunnar Anderson scored on a QB draw in the fourth quarter to make it 56-0 and a late
Chase Allbaugh field goal would be the final score for LR on the day.
• The Bears finished with 750 total yards, the most total yards by a team in Division II this year. Also, the 40 first downs are a South Atlantic Conference record.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Lenoir-Rhyne has won nine of the last 10 head-to-head matchups with Carson-Newman and hasn't lost in Jefferson City since 2012.
• Jimmy Palmer III had his fourth interception of the season, picking off a pass in the end zone.
• McGee is just 27 yards shy of 1,000 on the season in the first six games of the year.
• McGee's 200-yard game is just the 15th 200-yard rushing game by an LR player in the NCAA era.
• Lenoir-Rhyne ran its streak of consecutive games with at least one sack to 49 in a row, the longest in program history.
• The Bears recorded their first shutout since blanking Brevard in 2015. LR handed the Eagles their first shutout since 1992, the third-longest streak in DII history.
• The 59 points scored were the second-most by an opposing team at Burke-Tarr Stadium.
• This was the most yards a Carson-Newman team ever allowed and the most yards per play ever allowed by a Carson-Newman defense
