Acton Nets Hat Trick in 4-0 Win Over Lincoln Memorial

Hickory, N.C.- For the second straight game, a Bear scored a hat trick as Ria Acton scored three goals on the evening for her first career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Lincoln Memorial. Grayson Cameron made four saves for her fourth clean sheet on the year.

STATS OF THE MATCH:

  • Ria Acton got the Bears on the board with a goal of the free kick from 25 yards out. 
  • LR struck fast in the second half with an insurance goal just 38 seconds in the half as Evan O'Leary hit the post and got by the keeper to give the Bears a 2-0 lead. 
  • Another free kick rresulted in another Acton goal in the 55th minute to give the Bears a 3-0 lead. 
  • Action then got her first career high trick in the 63th minute to give the Bears their fourth goal of the evening. 
  • Grayson Cameron made four saves to move to 5-1-2 on the year. 
  • The Bears double up the Railsplitters in shots 22-11 on the evening. 
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • These teams came into the game as the top two teams in the SAC in shots per game. The Bears lead the conference with 23.4 shots per game while the Railsplitters are second with 20.9.
  • On the date in Bears history, in 2019, the No. 11 Bears moved to 9-0 with a 3-0 win over Carson-Newman. 
  • Acton's hat trick gives her seven goals on the season, which moves her into fourth in the SAC.  
  • The seven goals also tied her career high. Acton had seven goals in the spring season this year as well. 
  • This is the second straight game a Bear netted a hat trick. Leonie Proessl had three goals on Wednesday against Coker.
  • LR entered the game as one of four unbeaten teams in the SAC. The Bears face Catawba and Queens in the next two games,which are the other two unbeaten teams. The Bears gave Lincoln Memorial their first loss of the year this evening.
