Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer team scored three first half goals to rebound and beat Queens 5-1 at Moretz Sports Complex on Saturday evening.
Noah Tiefel scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Bears to their highest goal output of the season.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Queens Samuel Indinge got the Royals on the board first with a goal in the 8th minute. Indinge was near the sideline and drilled it high to the upper far post for his first goal of the year.
- After the quick goal it was all Bears the rest of the half with three straight goals to close the period. Miguel Montano scored first off a corner kick in the 13th minute.
- Then Tiefel scored two straight goals, the first in the 17th minute from a cross from Harri Rowe then Jaime Poza sent a perfect pass to Tiefel who beat Royals goalie one on one in the 29th minute.
- In the second half, Rowe added his first collegiate goal with his goal 15 yards away to the far upper corner to give the Bears a 4-1 lead.
- Tiefel then returned the favor setting up Poza for his first goal of the season to give the Bears a 5-1 lead.
- Queens double the Bears in corner kick 4-2 but LR scored one of their two corner kicks on the night.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- With the win, the Bears have now beaten Queens six straight times in Hickory.
- Bears have also scored at least two goals in all six of their wins.
- LR also scored five goals against Queens in the first round of SAC Tournament last spring here in Hickory.
- LR has not lost to Queens in Hickory since 1999.
- Queens Felipe Mendonca entered the game tied for the lead in goals in the SAC and second in shots.
- With 90 minutes played tonight, Victor Cascon and Camden Coleman both went over the 800 minute mark for the season.
- Tiefel now has seven goals on the season, which is tied for fifth in the SAC.
