HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team completed a perfect regular season at home with a 3-0 sweep of Newberry on Friday night. The Bears are a perfect 8-0 at home, the first time in program history they went through the regular season without a loss at home.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Bears celebrated Senior Night and honored five seniors prior to tonight's contest.
- LR was on fire in the first frame, hitting .441 with 17 kills and two errors.
- A back-and-forth second set saw LR erase a 23-20 deficit to come away with a 27-25 win.
- The Bears cruised to a 25-16 win in the third frame and held Newberry to a .000 hitting percentage and nine errors.
- Prall had 12 kills and six digs on the night and Alannah Thomas and Colette Romp each notched 10 kills.
- Helen Hamilton had 17 assists and eight digs while Mackenzie Hulsey had 11 assists.
- Rachel Bewick added 12 digs and three assists.
- Newberry was led by 17 kills from Natasha Bannister and 34 assists and 16 digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Prall moved past 1,400 career kills with her fourth tonight. She ranks second in program history in kills and kills per set for her career.
- Romp hit .450 and Thomas hit .333 for the Bears, both season-highs.
- The last five home games have been sweeps. LR has only had one five-setter at home this season, a win over Wingate.
- LR is now just one win away from 20 on the season.
- With Tusculum's win over Carson-Newman, the Bears finish fourth in the league standings despite just four losses.
