Dillinger Scores Career-High 24 Points in Bears Win Over Coker

Hartsville, S.C.--Maddie Dillinger scored a career-high 24 points in the Bears 68-53 win over Coker on Tuesday night to get LR's first SAC win of the season. Dillinger now has double digits in points in all four games this year. Brandi Hudson had 15 points for the second straight game to tie her career-high.

STATS AND INFO:
  • This is a start of a four-game road trip for the Bears. All four games are SAC Conference games. LR does not return home until December 15.
  • Bears snapped a two-game losing streak to the Cobras with tonight's win. 
  • First time since the 2018-19 season the Bears will not fall to 0-2 in conference play to start the season. 
  • LR has scored exactly 68 points in three of four games so far this year. 

FIRST HALF:
  • LR held Coker to just 18% shooting in the first half (5-27) to take a 36-15 lead in the break. 
  • Dillinger scored 16 of her game-high 24 points in the first half. Dillinger went 6-6 from the line to improve to 17-19 from the charity strip to start her collegiate career. 
  • Bears used a 15-4 run to close the first quarter to open a double-digit lead, which the Bears kept the rest of the game. 
  • A layup by Dillinger with 1:32 left in the first quarter gave the Bears an 18 point lead, their biggest of the half. 
SECOND HALF:
  • Bears extended their lead to 24 points twice during the third quarter and the Cobras did not get closer than 14 points in the half. 
  • A'mya McClain and Olivia Harris made their LR debut in the second half. McClain went 3/4 from the line while Harris added her first career rebound. 
  • The teams combined for 27 free throws in the 4th Quarter. LR shot 11-16 in the quarter to finish 19-25 for the game from the charity stripe.
ABOUT THE BEARS:
  • After the Bears shot .352 from the floor in their first two games, the Bears have rebounded to shoot .454 (50-110) from the floor the last two games. 
  • Emily Harman added four steals and four rebounds on the game, Harman only shot 3-12 from the floor for seven points. It was the first time in seven games Harman has not had double figures in points dating back to last year. 
  • Ten Bears scored in the contest tonight. 
  • For the first time all year, the Bears scored at least 15 points in every quarter. LR scored between 15-19 points in each of the four quarters tonight. 
  • Bears held the Coker to just 10% from long range. Cobra went 1 from 10 on the night. 
NOTABLE COBRAS:
  • Saquita Joyner had a double-double on the night, with a dozen points and rebounds in the contest.
  • Joyner was joined in double figures by Hope Richardson (13) and Ahlea Myers (10)
  • Cobras forced the Bears into 20 turnovers for the second straight game. 
UP NEXT:  Bears will travel to Limestone for a 2:00 tip-off on Saturday.
