Box Score MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball team jumped out to a 25-12 win in the first set but Mars Hill bounced back to win the final three sets and take a crucial late-season match. With the loss, the Bears fall a game out of first place and drop all the way to fourth in the SAC standings.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- It was all LR in the first set as the Bears hit .324 and held Mars Hill to an -.022 hitting percentage.
- Taylor Prall came out on fire, recording nine kills and hitting .643 in the opening stanza.
- However, the momentum swung after the first set and Mars Hill took set two 25-16 and set three 25-19.
- The back-and-forth set four saw neither team lead by more than four points. With the game tied at 22, MHU rallied to take the final three points and claim the victory.
- Prall finished the evening with 19 kills and added 13 digs for the double-double.
- Ashley Hawkins had 11 kills and added 21 digs and Colette Romp notched eight kills, six digs and six blocks.
- Rachel Bewick, who came into the match 14th in the nation in digs per set, added 26 more to her season total.
- Grace Lilly had 17 kills and Sarah Goodard had 14 as the duo each chipped in 12 digs for the Lions. Jordan Schmucker had 39 assists and 16 digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- After hitting .324 in the first set, LR hit 089, .075 and .070 in the final three sets.
- LR has dropped two straight after a seven game winning streak.
- This was the first loss at Mars Hill since 2017.
- Hawkins moved over 1,300 career digs in the match and sits at 1,303. She is nine digs away from fifth place in program history.
- Bewick's 552 digs this season rank sixth in program history and her 5.75 digs/set on the season are tied for the best mark in a single-season in team history.
- Prall is four kills away from 1,400 on her career.
