AVCA Release
HICKORY, N.C. -- Seniors
Taylor Prall and
Rachel Bewick have been named AVCA All-Americans as announced by the organization this afternoon. Prall earns her second All-American honor and was named a Second Team selection while Bewick earns her first as an Honorable Mention selection.
Prall was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2019 and became the program's first-ever AVCA All-American. This year, the outside hitter from Tipp City, Ohio led the Bears to a Sweet 16 appearance and just the second SAC Tournament Championship in program history. For her efforts, Prall was named the SAC Tournament MVP and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. Prall's 441 kills rank as the sixth-most in a single season in program history and was named the AVCA Southeast Region Player of the Year.
Bewick's tremendous senior year culminates in an All-American selection. The Greenville, N.C. native finished the campaign with 705 total digs and 5.69 digs per set, both rank as the second-most in a single season in team history. She earned three SAC Defensive Player of the Week honors and once was named AVCA National Player of the Week.
The duo led LR to just its second Sweet 16 appearance in program history and the fourth-most wins in a single season in the NCAA Era.
