Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis won their second straight home match this week over Catawba 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
In doubles, Catawba took advantage winning two ouf of three matches to win the doubles point (0-1).

Diana Babinets won the lone doubles match for LR defeating Hunt/Beardsley 6-1.
In singles,
Gemma Southwick made quick work of Pandurevic 6-0, 6-4 to tie up the match (1-1). Lutz then came up clutch defeating Correia 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 for LR to take the lead in the match (2-1). LR wouldn't turn back,
Evelin Menyhart battled and knocked off Beardsley 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 adding to the lead (3-1).
Lucy Whelan than secured the match winning by DQ over Poliakova (4-1). Daina Babinets didn't let up continued the trend for LR beating Laughton 6-0, 6-1 making the score (5-1). In final match of the day,
Alicia Wahlberg defeated Hunt 6-0, 6-1 to give LR the (6-1) victory.
The Bears now improve to 5-2 on the season and will be back in action Sunday March 14 as they travel to UVA Wise.
