ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Football Players of the Week for games played during the second week of the spring season and Lenoir-Rhyne linebacker Jon Ross Maye was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Maye, a freshman from Johns Creek, Ga., led the Bears to a 27-20 overtime win against Newberry with a game-high 14 tackles, including six solo tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a quarterback hurry. Maye was also named the team's Ronnie Lott Heavy Hitter of the Week recipient. 

Maye and the Bears return to action on Saturday when they host Barton at 4 p.m.
