Jefferson City, Tenn. -- The Lenor-Rhyne Women's Tennis defeated the Carson-Newman Eagles 5-2 on the road Saturday afternoon.
In doubles,

Natalie Lutz beat Reeves/Speiser 6-1.  Evenlin Menyhart/
Alicia Wahlberg  fell to Forrest/Price 2-6.

Gemma Southwick closed out the match and secured the doubles point over Resende/Reis 6-2 to put LR up (1-0).
In singles, Whelan got things going for LR, beating Price 8-6 to make the match 2-0. Lutz would then defeat Speiser 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 putting LR up 3-0. Menyhart would then secure the match defeating Khisamova 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 (4-0). Wahlberg would continue the momentum besting Reeves 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 (5-0). The Eagles would go on to win the last two matches to make the final score (5-2).
 
 The Bears improve their record to 7-2, 5-2 SAC and will be back in action on Tuesday March 23 against Wingate at home.
