Harrogate, TN.- The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team fell 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Lincoln Memorial in a mid-week non-conference matchup.
Connor Smith scored both runs for the Bears including his 5th home run of the season.

STATS OF GAME:
- Hayden Gresham (1-1) got his first start of the year. The sophomore went four innings giving up four runs (two earned) while striking out three Railsplitters but suffered the loss in this one.
- Lincoln Memorial jumped on the Bears early with three runs in the first. All the action happened after the first two batters were retired to start the inning.
- Both teams traded solo home runs in the fourth. Bears got theirs from Smith then Dalton Dedas hit one for Lincoln Memorial in the bottom half.
- Brett Fulk, Joey Cobb, Kanan Butler and Ben Friebel combined to throw four scoreless innings for the Bears out of the bullpen.
- LR was held to three hits on the day, a single by Nick Clarno and a triple and long ball from Smith.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The teams split the season series this year with LR winning earlier this year 10-9 after a Xander Ferlenda walk-off single. Both games this year were non-conference games.
- Bears fell to 0-7 when opponents score in the first inning this year.
- Also 0-7 this year when opponents have out-hit the Bears as LR was out hit 10-3 today.
- The triple for Smith was his first career three-bagger for the sophomore.
