Newberry, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis team bested Newberry 6-1 on the road Thursday afternoon.
On the doubles side,
Lewis Scott/
Patrik Alvestrand won by forfeit. Then
Josh Lazenby/
Rhodri Atkinson defeated Blavignat/De Sola 6-2 to secure the doubles point (1-0).
In singles,
Mauricio Hernandez started things off winning his match by forfeit to go up (2-0). Scott continued the upward trend for LR winning 6-0, 6-1 over Elder (3-0). Atkinson would then clinch the match by defeating Blavignat in No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0 to put LR up (4-0).
Nicolas Moser and Alvestrand would win their matches in convincing fashion to put LR up (6-0). Schomburg and Lazenby would go through a battle, but the Wolves would get the edge 1-6, 7-5, 10-8 (6-1).
The Bears improve to 3-3, 2-1 SAC on the season. Their next match will be Sunday March 7th on the road against Methodist.
