Hickory, N.C. --  Playing in their first SAC Tournament championship game since 2011, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer team fell 1-0 to #25 Wingate in the 2021 SAC Spring Soccer Conference Tournament . 
Victor Cascon, 
Dani Fernandez and 
Carles Montoliu Lobo were named to the SAC All-Tournament team.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
	- Match was scoreless till the 77th minute when Wingate's Nick Bennett used a cross to tap the ball just inside the right corner to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead.
 
	- Bears had four shots in the last ten minutes of action but could not find the back of the net for the equalizer. 
 
	- Also in the last ten minutes, the Bears had three of their five corners kick. LR had a 5-0 advantage on corner kick during the game.
 
	- Bears held a 13-5 advantage on shots in the contest while Juan Basabe made one save in goal for the Bears. 
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
	- This was the first meeting between these teams in the SAC Championship but 8th overall in the SAC tournament. 
 
	- With the loss, LR moves to 3-3 in SAC Championship games. 
 
	- The loss also ends the Bears seven game unbeaten streak. 
 
	- That streak is the longest since the Bears went 6-0-3 during a stretch in Coach Winter's second season in 2017.
