WISE, VA. -- Just six days since losing 15-6 at UVA Wise, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team took the Cavaliers to overtime before falling 12-11 in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinal. The Bears led by three with 5:30 to play but the Cavaliers scored the final four goals of the game.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- For the third time this season, Lenoir-Rhyne's
Suzy Smith scored seven goals. Smith finished the year with 35 goals in her 10 games.
- Smith scored three first-half goals and Cat Gaffney added two as LR took a 5-4 lead into the break.
- After UVA Wise tied it at six, Smith scored three straight to give the Bears a 9-6 lead.

Jolan Morey's 10th goal of the season put the Bears up 11-8 with 8:11 to play but UVA Wise's Jesse French scored two straight to pull the hosts within one.
- Katie Allen scored 14 seconds after French cut it to 11-10 to tie the game up with 1:25 to go and send it into overtime. Sydney Trask netted the game-winner off a free position shot with 27 seconds left in OT.
- Gaffney finished with three goals and three assists.
Isabelle Dunnam had a game-high nine ground balls and
Michelle Tang had six draw controls.
- Dunnam was one ground ball shy of tying the program record for most ground balls in a game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Lenoir-Rhyne was the number five seed in the SAC Tournament while the Cavaliers came in as the No. 4 seed.
- This was the first overtime game since April 22, 2017 when the Bears and Catawba went into OT.
- The Bears drop to 6-7 all-time in SAC Tournament play.
- LR and UVA Wise have each won twice in the head-to-head series.
