HICKORY, N.C. - In their final tune-up before conference play begins on Saturday, the Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer team blasted Francis Marion 6-0 in front of the home crowd at Moretz Sports Complex. The Bears got a goal from
Leonie Proessl less than five minutes in and never looked back, scoring four second half goals.
Ria Acton found the back of the night twice for her first goals of the 2021 season.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Bears out shot the Patriots 32-5, and 15-1 with shots on goal.
- The Bears had five corner kicks, and the Patriots had none.
- Grayson Cameron only had to make one save tonight after winning SAC Defensive Player of the Week for last week.
- Four different Bears scored goals, including Proessl, Acton and Allie Zueger. Proessl was the only one of that group that had scored a goal this season before tonight.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Coming into tonight, the Bears had scored only three goals in the first three games. Tonight, they tripled their season total with six.
- Evan O'Leary had a goal wiped away by an offside call, the second game in a row that has happened to the Bears.
- Tonight was the first time LR had ever beaten Francis Marion. The two hadn't met since 2005, but before today, the Bears were 0-6-1 against the Patriots.
- Two of the Bear goals tonight came on penalty kicks, one of which was by Acton.
- Acton tied for the SAC lead in goals with seven in the Spring season, and got her first two of the year tonight.
