ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Football Players of the Week for games played during the final week of the 2022 season and Lenoir-Rhyne defensive tackle Andre Jefferson was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Jefferson, a sophomore from Calume Park, Ill., set a new Lenoir-Rhyne record for sacks in a game with 5.5 as the Bears defeated Tusculum 34-14. In addition to his 5.5 sacks, Jefferson had eight tackles, including four solo tackles and 6.0 tackles for loss.

Jefferson was the second Bear to earn league Defensive Player of the Week honors, joining LB Devin Hibbitt.
