Hickory, N.C.- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team improved to 4-0 for the first time since the opening of the 2013 season with a 79-54 win over King Saturday afternoon inside the Shu. Four Bears scored in double figures as the Bears have led by 20 points or more in every game.
Blaikley Crooks scored 16 points while adding six rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block on the evening.

STATS AND INFO:
- The 2013-14 season was the last time the Bears started 4-0 and was also LR's last appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
- Bears have actually won seven of eight dating back to last year. The only blemish was an one-point loss at Newberry in the season final last year.
- Today's match was the first meeting between these programs in seventeen years. The teams played a home and away series in the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons with the home teams winning on their floor.
- King drops to 0-4 losing all four games to SAC teams to start their season.
FIRST HALF:
- 13-2 run in the last 3:38 to close the first quarter give the Bears an 18-12 lead after the first ten minutes.
- Bears shot 7-15 from the floor in each quarter and held King to 35.5% shooting but only had a five point lead heading into halftime. King did not score in the last 2:27 of the quarter and was 1-8 to end the half.
- Brandi Hudson scored ten points in the half to extended her streak to twenty-one straight games of scoring in double figures.
- Crooks stuffed the box score in the half with eight points, three rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal.
SECOND HALF:
- Bears came out and forced four turnovers in the first 1:09 in the half for six quick points and forced a King timeout.
- LR dominated the second half with a 41-14 run in the first 16:09 of the half. King did go on a 12-5 run to end the game but it was way too late.
- 20 turnover were forced in the second half by the Bears and 30 in total which lead to 39 points of turnovers.
NOTABLE TORNADOS:
- Brianna Dunbar and Jordan Weir both scored ten points to lead the Tornados.
- King hit 90% of their free throws lead by Weir,the 6'5 lefty went 4-4.
- 16 different Tornado's played played at least ten minutes.
ABOUT THE BEARS:
- Hudson lead all scores with 16 points. Emily Harman (10 pts) and Azariah Fields (12 pts) joined Hudson and Crooks in double figures.
- Fields added five assists as the Bears had 17 assists on their thirty baskets on the night.
- Eight different Bears had at least two rebounds lead by Crooks' six and Jalen Gathers' five.
