HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team continued its late season surge with a blowout victory over Mars Hill on Saturday afternoon. The Bears improve to 6-1 over their past seven games.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Lenoir-Rhyne hit eight threes in the first half on 16 attempts and held Mars Hill to just 2 of 11 from long range en route to a 42-30 lead at the half
- A late 14-1 run at the six minute mark of the second half sealed the victory for the Bears
- Three players scored in double figures for LR led by 27 points from T.J. Nesmith who went 10-of-17 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line
- Nesmith exploded with 24 of his 27 points in the second half

Nas Tyson added 21 points and was a perfect 4-for-4 in the second half. Tyson also had five assists

Jalen Johnson chipped in 15 pnts and four assists while
Tim Steele had eight points and only missed one shot on the night
- Mars Hill was led by 17 points from Isayah Johnson
- The Lions got a double-double from point guard Kaydn Dawkins who finished with 13 points and 10 assists
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- LR completes the season sweep of the Lions and moves into sole possession of eighth place in the SAC standings
- For the fourth time this season, LR shot 50 percent or better from the field
- As a team, the Bears shot 60.7 percent in the second half
- LR has won 10 straight over Mars Hill, their longest winning streak against the Lions in series history
