NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball team ended the regular season with a tough 66-61 loss at Newberry on Saturday afternoon. With the LR loss and losses by Anderson and Catawba, LR is the No. 8 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Tournament and will face top seed Lincoln Memorial.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- T.J. Nesmith made his first three shots from the field and first four free throws to post a perfect first half with 10 points
- Nesmith would finish with 17 points and six boards to go with a pair of blocks

Nas Tyson led the Bears in scoring with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting and went 4-for-6 from deep
- Tyson added six boards and three assists to go with two steals

Kevin Kangu had 16 points for his 16
th game in double figures this season for the Bears
- That trio accounted for 51 of the 61 points for LR on the afternoon
- LR shot 39 percent from the field in the game and went just 9-of-28 (32.1 percent) in the second half
- Newberry had three players in double figures led by 20 from Quandaveon McCollum
- Marcus Ford added 15 and Devario Sheppard had 12
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Eleazer Arena continues to be a house of horrors for LR who has lost 12 straight regular-season contests at Newberry. LR's only win in that gym was the First Round of the SAC Tournament last year
- The last LR regular-season win in Newberry came back on Feb. 7, 2009, in a 66-55 victory
- Newberry swept the season series from the Bears
- This will be the first time in program history Lenoir-Rhyne enters the SAC Tournament as the No. 8 seed
