SALISBURY, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis won its 5th straight match Friday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Catawba. The Bears won two out of three in the doubles round and won five out of six matches in the singles round.
In doubles,
Mauricio Hernandez and
Joel Hemmings won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles, and
Patrik Alvestrand and
Lewis Scott won at No. 3 6-4.
In singles,
Rhodri Atkinson was victorious at No. 1 6-3, 6-2, and
Lewis Scott won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3. Hemmings won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 singles, Alvestrand won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5, and Hernandez swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Bears have another busy week coming up, starting with a home make-up match against Lees-McRae on Monday at 2 p.m.
