COLUMBIA, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne Track and Field finished competition at the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C., and had several top-10 finishers.
On day one,
Holly Kone finished 5th in the women's 400 meter dash,
Ellis Horton finished 7th in the men's hammer throw,
Bekki Roche finished 5th in the women's hammer throw,
Lacey Triplett finished 3rd in the women's javelin throw, and
Pearl Ballard and Triplett finished 3rd and 5th in the pole vault respectively.
On day two, Phillip Stomne took 9th place in the men's 200 meter dash,
Taylor Meadows finished 5th in the women's 800, and
Kylie Dahlberg also took 8th in that event. Dahlberg also grabbed another top-10 in the women's 1500 invite, taking 8th in that event as well. Jacob Parkinson finished 8th in the men's 1500,
Marlesia Walker finished 5th in the women's discus, and
Kennedy Conner was the lone first place finisher, winning the women's high jump with a jump of 1.61 meters.
The men's 4x400 team of
Lucas Besong,
Marlin Davis,
Dario Matau, and
Jacob Wadsworth also grabbed a 3rd place finish.
The Bears are in action next when they travel to High Point next weekend.
