HICKORY, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne women's tennis saw its 13-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday, falling 5-2 to Carson-Newman at home. The loss marked the first blemish in SAC play for the No. 13 Bears.
Winning for LR was
Gemma Southwick and
Lucy Whelan at No. 1 doubles (6-4), Evegniya Pugina at No. 2 singles, and
Lucy Whelan at No. 4 singles. The Bears dropped several close decisions in other matches as well.
LR is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to rival Wingate for a 2 p.m. first serve with the Bulldogs.
