Box Score 2 HICKORY, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis had a chance to clinch a share of their first SAC regular season championship in school history, but came up just short, falling to Queens 5-2 in the regular season finale. The Queens women swept the Bear women 7-0.
On the men's side, the Bears grabbed both of their wins in the singles round.
Mauricio Hernandez and
Zachary Cox also won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles, but Queens secured the doubles point by winning two out of the three matches.Â
Lewis Scott win a tiebreaker 7-6 (3) and 6-2 at No. 3 singles, and Hernandez finished up a 2-0 day with an 8-5 win at No. 6 singles.Â
On the women's side,
Diana Babinets and
Alicia Wahlberg won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles, but Queens won the other two doubles matches to grab the point.Â
The Bears will now prepare for the SAC Tournament, which begins on Thursday, April 21 in Sumter, S.C.
