CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Following up a win over No. 3 North Greenville, No. 22 Lenoir-Rhyne baseball fell apart in the late innings and lost 18-5 to Queens on Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte. The Royals scored 14 runs combined in the 7th and 8th innings to win comfortably.

- The Bears jumped in front 2-0 after RBIs from Nick Clarno and Anthony Porrino in the 1st inning.
- A two-run home run for Queens tied the game in the 2nd.
- The Bears played long ball themselves in the 4th and 5th innings. Wade Cuda hit his team-high 14th homer in the 4th, a two-run shot. Then, Porrino hit his 10th of the year in the 5th, a solo shot. The Bears were up 5-2 at that point.
- Michael Allen pitched three perfect innings of relief for the Bears.
- A second two-run blast for MJ Sasapan in the 6th made it 5-4. Two more homers and several other extra base hits for Queens in the final frames pulled them away 18-5.

- This was the largest margin of defeat this season for LR.
- Today's game was the first time in over two years that an opponent scored 15+ runs against LR. The last team to do it was Catawba in March of 2020.
