MARS HILL, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball won its 30th game of 2022 - the most since 2016 - with a doubleheader sweep of Mars Hill by scores of 19-7 and 4-3 on Saturday at Mars Hill. The Bears swept the Lions on the weekend and are now 30-7 on the season and 10-5 in SAC play.

GAME ONE INFO
- The Bears scored the most runs of the season in game one. After falling behind 4-0 after two innings, LR came to life offensively in the 3rd and 4th innings, scoring seven runs in each inning.
- After driving in both runs for the Bears yesterday, Drew Yniesta continued his hot weekend at the plate, hitting a three-run home run in the 3rd to cut the lead to 4-3. Later in the inning, Wade Cuda hit his team-leading 11th blast of the season, also a three-run bomb. LR also scored a run on a wild pitch and was up 7-4 after three.
- The Bears didn't stop in the 4th. Luis Atiles drove in a run on a sac fly, Erick Ramirez came in to score on a wild pitch, and then Cuda drove in three more runs, this time with a bases-loaded double.
- Brett Eurey then hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot, to make it a 14-4 game.
- Nick Clarno picked up an RBI double in the the 6th to increase the lead to 15-4.
- Atiles added two more RBIs with an RBI double in the 7th and another sac fly in the 9th.
- Anthony Porrino also added an RBI single in the 7th.
- Hogan Stallings hit his first home run of the season as well, a solo shot in the 9th in a pinch hit at-bat.
- Joshua Lanham picked up his 7th win of the season.
GAME TWO INFO
- Game two was a much lower scoring affair in the 7-inning game of the series. The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning after an RBI single from Erick Ramirez and a two-run triple from Bryce Stober.
- Mars Hill got a solo home run and an RBI single in the 4th inning to cut the lead to 3-2.
- Cole Laskowski got what ended up being the game-winning RBI with a double down the left field line in the 6th inning to score Matt Mackey.
- Ben Friebel set the program record with his 12th career save after inheriting base runners in the 7th. The tying run was on second base when Friebel closed it out.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- LR's 30 wins this season are the most since the program won 33 games in 2016.
- The program record for wins is 35, set in 2007.
- 19 runs are the most the Bears have scored since March of 2021 when they scored 23 against UVA Wise.
- Andrew Patrick and Joshua Lanham are a combined 13-2 this season.
- Lanham's 1.83 ERA is 2nd in the SAC, and Porrino's 43 RBIs are also 2nd in the league.
- LR is now 35-32 since 2000 against Mars Hill.
