David Bell smacked the second pitch of the game for a single, and then Cole Laskowski was hit by the pitch, Drew Yniesta then laced a 1-2 pitch to left field, scoring Bell. Nick Clarno then drove in Laskowski with a sac fly to center and the Bears were up 2-0 just four batters in.
- Two runs were all Andrew Patrick needed in this one as vintage Patrick was the story. Patrick spun his best outing of the year, pitching seven innings and allowing just one run. He worked around five walks and stranded eight men on base in his outing.
- The score remained 2-0 until the 7th inning. With runners on first and second after a drop third strike and a single, Bryce Stober faked out the Crusaders, attempting to bunt to put the defense in motion, and then hitting a single where the shortstop had vacated to score a run and make it 3-0.
- Erick Ramirez then bunted, and an error on the throw home allowed the run to score.
- A sac fly from David Bell scored another run to make it 5-0.
- The Crusaders got their first and only run of the game in the 7th to cut the lead to 5-1, but never got closer after that.
- Stober and Ramirez added RBIs in the 8th to make it 7-1, and that's how the game ended.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- The Crusaders came back strong in game two and jumped on LR early with a 3-spot in the top of the first and one more in the top of the second.
- With the Bears trailing 4-0, Anthony Porrino crushed a solo homer to right-center, his 13th big fly of the season.
- North Greenville got that run right back in the top of the third on an RBI single from their catcher Campbell Conard.
- Porrino drove in his second run of the game and program record 65th of the season with a double to plate Yniesta and make it 5-2.
- The play of the game came in the fifth inning with the Bears having the bases loaded and two outs down by three. Clarno sent a sinking line drive to right field that Marek Chlup make a diving catch on to save at least two runs.
- In their next at bat after Chlup's catch, NGU tacked on two more runs to push the lead to 7-2.
