WINGATE, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team traveled to No. 24 Wingate and suffered its first SAC loss of the season in a 3-0 defeat. The loss snapped LR's six match winning streak in a rematch of the NCAA Southeast Regional Semifinal from last season that the Bears won.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The first set was ultra-competitive with neither team holding a lead larger than three points until a late Wingate run. With the set tied at 20, the Bulldogs would rattle off four straight and staved off a late LR rally to take a 25-22 first set victory.
- The second and third sets went Wingate's way by identical counts of 25-17.
- Wingate's balanced offense featured three players with 10 kills each. Shannon Kasparak finished with 36 assists and 16 digs.
- Colette Romp led the Bears with six kills and Bailey Carpenter added 12 digs.
- Mackenzie Husley had 16 assists and four kills for LR.
- Wingate held the Bears to just .111 hitting on the evening, the lowest of the season for LR.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- These teams entered as the only teams in the Piedmont Division without a loss.
- LR defeated Wingate twice last season, once at home and once in Anderson in the NCAA Tournament.
- Wingate just entered the national rankings at No. 24 this week.
- This ended a stretch where LR played 11 of their first 12 games away from home.
