Bears Move to 4-2 with 75-51 Win At Converse

Spartanburg S.C.-- Tilda Lindstrom had 16 points while Mikeba Jones added 15 points to lead the Bears to a 75-51 win at Converse on Wednesday night. Both Lindstrom and Jones reached career highs to help the Bears move to 4-2 on the season. The Bears will conclude their three game road trip with the SAC opener at No. 4 Catawba on Saturday.

STATS AND INFO:
  • Bears move to a perfect 10-0 all-time against Converse.
  • LR is now 3-1 against Conference Carolinas teams with games against Belmont Abbey and King still to come this season. 
  • Harman is 9 points away from 1200 career points. 
  • Harman and Crooks played in their 80th career game tonight. 
FIRST HALF:
  • Jones scored the last five points in the opening quarter to help the Bears take a 20-17 lead after the first ten minutes. 
  • With the game tied at 25, the Bears went on a 10-0 run in the second quarter to take the lead for good.
  • Bears held Converse to 2 points in the last 5:39 of the second quarter. 
SECOND HALF:
  • Third quarter was all Bears as LR scored 23 of the 30 points to race out to a 24 point lead. Jalen Gathers put a layup up at the buzzer to give the Bears their largest lead. 
  • Converse could not get any closer as the Bears beat Converse 75-51. The 75 points is a season-high for the Bears. 
  • Bears shot 41% from the floor while Converse shot 40% but the Bears made 12 more free-throws on the night. 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Blaikley Crooks was the third Bear in double-digit with 13 points. 
  • Jones was one rebound away from a double-double as she paced the Bears with 9 boards.
  • Jones also went 8-10 from the free-throw line as the Bears shot 19-25 on the night. 
  • Bears had 32 points off the bench including eight from Gathers and five from Jayda Glass
UPNEXT: SAC Play opens up with a date at No. 4 Catawba on Saturday. Tip-off is schedued for 5:30 PM from Salisbury.
