CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis Team was outmatched on Sunday with being swept by Charleston, 7-0.
In an overall rough day for the Bears, the Golden Eagles were able to capture five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Patrik Alvestrand put up the best fight at No. 6 singles while taking the first set but dropped the second set and a third-set tiebreaker.
Despite missing out on the doubles point, the No. 3 doubles team of Mattias Selde and Connor Gibson were able to pull out an exciting 7-5 victory.
The men's tennis squad will return to Hickory, N.C. on Thursday, Feb. 23 when they take on Lees-McRae and start a stretch where five of their next six matches will be played at home.
