No. 6 Bears Score First 13 Goals and Cruise on Saturday

HICKORY, N.C. -- The No. 6 Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team scored the first 13 goals of the game on their way to an easy 21-4 win over Tusculum on Senior Day at Moretz Stadium. 15 different players scored for LR in the blowout, led by three from Riley Seay.

STATS OF THE GAME
  • Seniors Toron Eccleston and Myles Moffat combined on the first goal of the game with Eccleston scoring his 32nd goal of the game to open the scoring just 31 seconds into the contest.
  • At the 8:27 mark of the second quarter, it was already 13-0 in favor of Lenoir-Rhyne with nine different Bears finding the back of the net.
  • Tusculum would ned the LR scoring run with a goal at the 4:36 mark of the second quarter.
  • LR would strike with seven more goals in the third quarter and each team added one in the fourth.
  •  Moffat would finish with two goals and three assists to lead all players with five points. 
  • Seay, Bryce Reece, Eccleston and Aaron Williams all finished with three points for the Bears.
  • John Paulus won all 11 of his face offs and grabbed a game-high eight ground balls. In total, LR went 24-of-28 on face offs between four different players.
  • Nate Ashley led LR with eight caused turnovers.
  • The shots were 57-19 in favor of Lenoir-Rhyne with a 33-9 edge in shots on goal. 
  • The Bears dominated in the ground ball category, scooping 39 compared to 14 from Tusculum.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • Neither team was whistled for a penalty in the game.
  • This was the fastest game in LR history as it was completed in just one hour and 37 minutes.
  • LR honored 15 seniors on Senior Day before the opening face off.
  • The Bears have now won 35 straight games against unranked opponents.
