NEWBERRY, S.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team used a balanced attack to defeat Newberry 3-0 on Tuesday evening. The win moves the Bears to 2-0 in league play as the quartet of

Emmaleigh Allen and
Taylor Osborne all had at least seven kills.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Aasia McNeill paced the Bears with 12 kills and added five digs.
- Kathy Peter had 11 kills and hit a scorching .647 on the evening with her 11 kills coming on just 17 swings. Peter added three aces, two digs and a block.
- Emmaleigh Allen had nine kills and just missed a double-double as she registered 10 digs.
- Taylor Osborne had seven kills and four digs as the four Bears accounted for 39 of LR's 44 kills.
- Sydney Karjala had her second-most assists in a match with 33 and the second-most digs in a match with 16 for her sixth double-double of the year.
- Parkley Hennings notched 15 digs and added a pair of aces.
- LR won by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-22.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Allen is second in the conference in kills per set with 3.47. Her 104 total kills are also tied for second in the league.
- Karjala is fourth in the SAC in assists per set at 7.29.
- As a team, the Bears are second in the league in digs and digs per set.
- The Bears have now won five straight against Newberry.
