ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Football Players of the Week for games played during week three of the 2023 season and Lenoir-Rhyne return man DeAree Rogers picked up Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
 
Rogers, a freshman from Lexington, S.C., broke two program records in the Bears' 62-0 win over Erskine, while tying another record. Rogers returned two punts for touchdowns, tying the record for most punt returns for touchdowns in a single game. He broke the record for most punt return yards in a single game with 170 and he broke the record for most punt returns for touchdowns in a single season, having returned three punts for touchdowns in his first three games of the season. Rogers averaged 34 yards per return in the win.

This is the first Player of the Week award for Rogers and the Bears this season. LR returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Carson-Newman at 1 p.m.
