WINGATE, N.C. - The winless streak for the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team extended to five matches on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat to Wingate. 

It was another strong opening half for the Bears who competed with the Bulldogs for 45 minutes, however, the success could not translate over into the other side of the break. 

The Bulldogs scored a couple of second half goals, while securing the match with an 86th minute winner by Kosi Mafela. 

With the result, the Bears have only been able to secure one point in their first three road matches of the season.

• Despite the 2-0 score, the shot battle was even with an 11-8 total.
• The match had only four total shots on goal. LR only had one shot on goal, the lowest since its one shot on goal against Limestone on Sept. 16.
• The Bears were shown four yellow cards, their most since five yellow cards against Anderson on Sept. 20.
• LR has now gone four matches without allowing a first half goal.
• It was another match of even corner kicks, both teams had four each.
