Bears late score leads to their first win at Shuford Arena

HICKORY, NC - In a back and forth clash between Lenoir-Rhyne and UVA Wise ended with a Vanessa Jurewicz's go-ahead layup with five seconds remaining, giving Lenoir-Rhyne a 77-75 victory. Lenoir-Rhyne improves to 3-4 (2-3 SAC) as they record their first win of the season at Shuford Arena. UVA Wise drops to 5-3 overall (2-2 SAC) as the Cavaliers fall to 1-2 on the road this season.

  • Alexandra Merceron produced another 20 point game as she finished with 25 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
  • Emilia Preece's go-ahead fast-break layup gave the Cavaliers a slight one point lead entering halftime 40-39.

  • Five Bears registered at least four boards while Blaikley Crooks led the team with eight rebounds.
