WINGATE, NC - Another successful Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball season has come to an end. The Bears fell 3-0 to #4 seeded Augusta in the NCAA DII Tournament opening round on Friday, closing their season at 25-7.
This Bears squad made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, and this was just the fifth 25-win season in school history.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Augusta came out firing, going up 11-3 on the Bears early in the opening set.
- The Jaguars scored the final five points to take the set.
- The Bears took a 7-5 lead in the second set thanks to two service aces from Averie Dale and a kill from Kathy Peter.
- Augusta answered with a 15-6 run, putting them ahead 20-13.
- Two late kills from Jenna Vogen and Dale weren't enough as Augusta took the second set.
- Down early in the third set, the Jaguars stormed through the middle of the set to win the match 3-0.
- Averie Dale led the Bears with six kills, while Rachel Wildermuth dished out 20 assists.
- Hadley Prince was tops on the team with 15 digs.
- As a team the Bears hit .113, compared to .383 for the Jaguars.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Nicole Barringer's 64 wins are fifth most for a coach in program history.
- The Bears 25 wins are tied for the third most in a single season in LR history.
- This marks the seventh NCAA Tournament appearance for Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball.
- Augusta will now take on the winner of Wingate and Converse tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
