WILSON, N.C. - In a voyage to Eastern North Carolina, the Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team split the mid-week doubleheader against a couple of Conference Carolinas foes.
In the first game of the day, the Bears had four different players to crush home runs off Barton, with Sal Carricato, Tyler McPeak, Zach Evans, and Blake Bean all going yard.
However, the Bulldogs produced two dominant innings with a six-run fifth and a seven-run eighth to pull away from the Bears in a 15-9 final.
In the second game of the day, the Bears found a way to shut down Chowan as the Hawks only had one hit throughout the entire contest.
While the Bears did give the opportunity to players who have not experienced much in-game action so far this season, the group helped produce only the second shutout of the season in the 6-0 final.
