Baseball Suffers Defeat to No. 1 Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team dropped its second consecutive game to No. 1 Tampa, as the Spartans outdueled the Bears, 23-7.

After taking the series opener, Tampa carried the momentum onto Saturday by scoring the first 16 runs of the game, all in the first four innings of the contest.

For LR, Owen Blackledge led the team with two RBIs on the afternoon. The junior drove in LR's first run of the game with a single in the fifth, followed by an RBI walk in the eighth.

Speaking of that eighth inning, it was the most successful frame of the day for the Bears as LR posted four runs. Zach Evans and Alex Khan each had RBI singles to bring the Bears to their seven-run total.
