HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team improved its win streak to three games as the Bears started their final home series of the season with a 7-3 victory over Anderson.
The even innings proved to be the difference maker as the Bears scored six of their seven runs in the second, fourth and sixth frames. The biggest inning of the day for LR came in the sixth, where the Bears tallied three runs to pull ahead of the Trojans.
Zach Evans and Tyler McPeak improved their home run count by connecting for their 10th and ninth long balls of the season. McPeak hit a two-run home run in the second while Evans crushed a solo bomb in the sixth.
Dillon Chapa, who got the start for the Bears, got back into the win column with a six-inning performance. The junior from Waller, Texas struck out three batters and allowed only three earned runs.
With the victory, LR has won three consecutive games for the first time since its won four-straight from March 19-24. It was also the last time the Bears won a series at Durham Field, which was a series against Emory & Henry.

- Khi Holiday produced a team-high three hits in the contest. It is the third time this season that the junior has had a three-hit game.
- The combined bullpen of Cole Bramhall and Luke Elmore delivered three perfect innings to close out the game. Bramhall dealt three strikeouts in his two innings while Elmore punched out two in his one inning.
- LR had three doubles in the contest. Cole Laskowski, Cole Stanford and Holiday each recorded a two-bagger.
- Blake Bean and Holiday each touched home for a team-high two times.
- Bryce Stober stole his 10th base of the season. The senior is a perfect 10-for-10 on stolen base attempts this year.

- With the win, LR leads the all-time series, 30-13.
- The Bears have won five-straight games over the Trojans. That is one shy of the longest win streak in the all-time series. That win streak occurred from April 11, 2015 from Feb. 24, 2017.

- The Bears have had some recent success over the Trojans. LR has won eight of the past 10 games.
