Dahlonega, Ga.-- With the score 3-3 in the third inning, North Georgia went on a scored eight runs in the next three innings to defeat the Bears 11-3 in five innings in the first game of the Southeast Regional. Julia Mardigian had two RBIs to tie the single season record with 64 RBIs. The Bears will have to win both games tomorrow to advance to the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.

GAME INFO:
- Cassidy Wall got the Bears on the board with a two-out RBI double in the top of the 1st.
- North Georgia took their first lead in the bottom half with a two-run homerun from Marycille Brumby.
- Mardigian then give the Bears the lead right back in the second with a two-out two-run single up the middle.
- After the Nightwarks tied it at three in the bottom of the second, Bears had the bases loaded in the third but a great play by Nighthakws pitcherKristen Davis to knock down Madison Wilson line drive to keep the game tied at three.
- It was all Nighthawks after that with a five spot in the third and three run spot in the fifth to end the game via the mercy rule 11-3.
- Lauren Rakes took the loss allowing six runs in 2 1/3 innings while Faith Carrigan came in relief allowing five runs (three earned) in also 2 1/3 innings.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- After getting only five hits in the first two games early this season, LR had seven hits in five innings tonight.
- However no one had a multi-hit game through.
- Rylie Moody had three hits for North Georgia as the Nighthawks had 12 hits.
UP NEXT: Game two will be tomorrow at 12:00 PM. Bears will have to win game two to force a game three, which will be right after game two if necessary.
