ROCK HILL, S.C. - Sophomore Track & Field standout Alexis Brown has won the SAC Female Athlete of the Year award, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Brown, only a sophomore, has already established herself as the standard when it comes to DII sprinting. Her accomplishment's speak for themselves:
  • Four SAC Championships
    • Indoor 60m, Indoor 200m, Outdoor 100m, Outdoor 4x100m
  • Four NCAA Championships
    • Indoor 60m, Indoor 200m, Outdoor 100m, Outdoor 4x100m
  • NCAA 100m Record (11.04)
  • SAC Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field Female Athlete of the Year
  • USTFCCCA Southeast Region Athlete of the Year
  • US Olympic Trials 100m semi-finalist

"Alexis absolutely earned this opportunity to be names SAC Female Athlete of the Year. She takes care of business on the track and in the classroom," states head track & field coach Kevin Paterson. "Most athletes could only dream of winning four national championships in an entire career, let alone in one year. What she has done is truly remarkable. Alexis has already created a resume as one of the best sprinters in NCAA DII history and I can't wait to see what more she can accomplish the next two seasons."
